Crigger Hearing Aid Center Hearing Aids Once you have had a medical exam by an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, and your hearing has been evaluated by an Audiologist, hearing aids may be recommended (if no medical treatment is warranted). Your Audiologist, the professional trained in hearing loss and hearing aid fitting, will work with you through the process of obtaining the hearing aids. The audiologist will make recommendations based on your individual needs and constraints. Hearing Aids have benefited from today’s computer technology just like telephones, TVs and other electronic devices. Today’s digital technology produces hearing aids that are smaller, faster, clearer, and better than even a few years ago. With the ability to program hearing aids to your particular hearing loss, as well as advanced speech processing and directional microphones, patients often attain their goal of, not just better hearing, but better communication. During the Hearing Aid Placement, all aspects of the hearing aid fitting will be discussed with you and your family. The first step will be to take an impression of your ears to have the shells or earmolds of the hearing aids made. A recommendation as to the type of aids will be made based on your hearing loss, cosmetic consideration, cost and technology. The hearing aids will be ordered and you will return in approximately two weeks for the fitting procedure. At the time of the hearing aid fitting, your hearing aids will be programmed and evaluated. You will be counseled regarding care and sue of the aids and will have the opportunity to practice using the aids. Hearing Instrument Models:
